Listed below are events that the Saluda-Reedy Watershed Consortium and project affiliates have organized or participated in the current year. Low Impact Development Roundtable
May 15, 2007
The broad goal of this effort is to allow developers to reduce stormwater impacts and the financial costs of development through low impact development (which reduces impervious surface in areas of new growth). Five additional meetings of the roundtable were proposed at the first meeting in October, 2006. Meetings were set for every third Tuesday of the month. They will be held from 8 – 10 AM in the training room in the Conference Room D area of County Square.

Using Hydrology as an Integrating Framework for Development

This was the second in Upstate Forever and the Home Builders Association of Greenville's 2007 Low Impact Development Breakfast Series. John Knott, of the Noisette Company, drew upon examples from Dewees Island and the Noisette Project to illustrate that by siting homes according to natural systems, developers may reduce operating costs and long term maintenance and repair. Lake Conestee Operation Clean Sweep

Staff, members and volunteers of the Conestee Foundation, Friends of the Reedy River, Saluda Reedy Watershed Consortium, South Carolina Water Resources Center, and Upstate Forever gathered to help clean-up the historic 145-acre Lake Conestee, just south of Greenville. |

Watershed Educational Display: Augusta Road/Ramsey Family Branch of the Greenville Library
Through January, our educational display was featured at the West Branch of the Greenville Library at 100 Lydia Street. It will rotate to other library locations in the first few months of 2007. Check back soon to see where it has moved.
