The Greenville News recently featured Saluda-Reedy Watershed Consortium partner, Clemson University's, research on the Saluda River: "Now a Clemson University researcher and some graduate students are keeping
watch over the Saluda River, to see if development along that waterway begins to
upset the balance of nature again. Five sampling stations (including the one pictured to the right) collect Saluda River data including depth, sediment, organisms, water quality and quantity, and changes in the river channel." To read this and other current news articles, click here.

On Earth Day, paddlers and river enthusiasts will gather on the banks of the Reedy River for the Third Annual Reedy River Paddlefest! Organized by the Greenville County Recreation Department, Friends of the Reedy River, the South Carolina Water Resoruces Center and area paddlers, Paddlefest will include paddling on the river and a short run. Proceeds from the event benefit Friends of the Reedy River. Click here for more information.

On Saturday, February 24, staff, members and volunteers from the Conestee Foundation, Friends of the Reedy River, Saluda Reedy Watershed Consortium, South Carolina Water Resources Center, and Upstate Forever gathered to help clean-up the historic 145-acre Lake Conestee, just south of Greenville. Hundreds of pounds of trash were cleared from the river and lake.

The Saluda-Reedy Watershed Consortium and Upstate Forever has recently developed a series of LID Fact Sheets that highlight the Low Impact Development practices that reduce the impact of both the development process and the developed landscape on the environment here in the Upstate.
